Fresno State has a number of upcoming summer camps for children of all ages, offered by various colleges and divisions on campus.
FOOSA 2024
Target age group(s): Ages 14-26
June 9-23
The FOOSA Philharmonic is a pre-professional orchestra that allows advanced musicians of college and a select number of exceptionally advanced younger pre-college students to enjoy a side-by-side performance experience with outstanding faculty members. This year’s program features Szymanowski’s Concert Overture and Mahler’s Symphony No. 7. Musicians accepted into this program enjoy daily private lessons, daily orchestra rehearsals and sectionals, recital opportunities, concerto competition and performances at the Fresno State Concert Hall, Saroyan Theater and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Sports science camp
Target age group(s): High school students
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. | June 11-13
Hosted by the Department of Kinesiology and the Central California Sports Science Institute at Fresno State, the Sports Science Camp is a three-day immersive program where students will actively learn about careers in kinesiology through hands-on experiences in physical education, exercise sciences, athletic training and sport psychology. Fresno Unified high school students that are in their school’s health pathway program are able to register. This program is free. For more information, contact Tim Hamel at thamel@csufresno.edu.

Sweet Potato Project
Target age group(s) — 12-18 years old
July through August
The Sweet Potato Project provides participants an opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial and business skills while engaging in team building and leadership development skills. Program participants learn how to create a business and a marketing plan for turning sweet potatoes into marketable products. The program culminates in a pitch competition where student teams compete for prizes in front of a panel of judges. Register here.
