Works Above and Beyond
Anarely Bautista-Ayers, Upward Bound Programs
Through her authentic leadership and commitment to student success, Anarely played an essential role in keeping Upward Bound Programs running during its adversities and staff shortages. Thank you, Anarely, for leading wholeheartedly and believing in our students and Upward Bound Programs. We celebrate you.
Ivan Reed, Technology Services
Ivan has always exhibited an above and beyond attitude towards work, however in this instance he really shined and went above and beyond. Although he had called out sick to take care of his wife, he saw there were other people in the department out sick as well. Most people would have stayed home, but he came in to ensure there was the proper coverage needed for the department. This dedication and selfless attitude show a genuine handle on emotional intelligence, specifically empathy and self-awareness. Thanks for stepping up, Ivan.
Alejandra Vazquez, University Development
Alejandra was instrumental in a recent collaboration between the Library and the College of Social Sciences by providing meaningful structure to what might have been an otherwise chaotic planning process. From start to finish, she was there ensuring everything proceeded smoothly. Alejandra anticipates needs and thinks creatively to solve any issue. She is wonderful.
