Helda Pinzon-Perez (Public Health) presented her research "Indigenous Peoples and Diabetes: A Priority for Public Health" at the 15th World Congress on Public Health in Melbourne, Australia in early April.
Miguel Perez (Public Health) has been appointed by the State Board of Education to serve on the Health Education Curriculum Framework and Evaluation Criteria Committee, where he will work closely with framework writers and California Department of Education staff to develop a new framework for health education.
Estella Gonzalez (College of Health and Human Services) has joined the Advising and Career Development Center as its new coordinator. Over her past 14 years at the University, she has also worked as an adviser in the University Advising Center and Degree Advising Office.
Jason Whiting (Recreation Administration) had the article he co-authored "Outdoor recreation motivation and site preferences across diverse racial/ethnic groups: A case study of Georgia state parks" published in the Journal of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism.
