Anil Shrestha (Plant Science) was named as an executive board member to Wildlife Conservation Nepal. He started his five-year term in 2018 and his experience will be utilized in an agro-biodiversity program.
Dr. Shrestha has been honored in past years with the President's Volunteer Service Silver Award for his work in helping scientists, faculty members and students in Nepal to develop skills in experimental designs and data analysis.
He has returned to Nepal in other recent years for his research sabbatical to participate in the USAID/Winrock Farmer to Farmer volunteer program and to teach at the Agriculture and Forestry University in Nepal.
Ethan Kytle and Blain Roberts (History) co-authored a Washington Post op-ed, "The Lost Cause roots of Sinclair’s propaganda." The piece draws on research from their new book, Denmark Vesey’s Garden: Slavery and Memory in the Cradle of the Confederacy, which was published recently by The New Press.
Catherine Jackson (Kinesiology), a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), is the current national chair of Public Education and Managing Editor of ACSM’s Sports Medicine Basics. She has recently been appointed to the Translation and Innovation Subcommittee tasked with taking ACSM’s evidence based research materials and adapting them into understandable, valuable and usable formats for wider, non-researcher, audiences.
