The Fresno State Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying that it meets professional standards.
Administered by International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), the accreditation program requires departments to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures; administration; operations; and support services.
University employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 559.278.6875 on April 29 between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. Comments will be taken by the assessment team: team leader Sgt. Kevin Roberto, University of Connecticut Police Department (retired), and Sonya Johnson, Police Planning and Research Manager, Albany (Georgia) Police Department.
Telephone comments must address the department’s ability to comply with IACLEA’s standards. A copy of the standards are available at the Fresno State Police Department located at 2311 E. Barstow Ave. Please contact Amy Luna at 559.278.6875 to view the standards.
Anyone wishing to submit written comments may send them to IACLEA Office of Director of Professional Services, 1110 Bonifant St., Suite 330, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
