About the Keynote Speaker
Thomas A. DeFanti, Ph.D., is a recall research scientist at UC San Diego’s Calit2/Qualcomm Institute and a distinguished professor emeritus of computer science at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His career achievements include the ACM Outstanding Contribution Award (1988), induction as an ACM Fellow (1994), and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Ohio State University (2018). Currently, he serves as a senior advisor to Louis Fox, CEO of CENIC. Dr. DeFanti’s groundbreaking work has significantly advanced the fields of computer graphics, virtual reality, and visualization.
