What began as a "bold idea" in the 2017 Bold Ideas Challenge has now come to fruition in Fresno State's newest employee recognition program — High Five. Click here to read about how the program began.
High Fives are easy to give — simply go to the High Five website on the Organizational Excellence webpage, click “Give a High Five” and fill out the form to send kudos to anyone on campus. Your message will be delivered straight to their inbox, and recipients will be acknowledged weekly in Campus News.
Read below how your colleagues are going above and beyond to help the campus community.

Goes Above & Beyond
Alexandra Nottbohm, Office of Institutional Effectiveness
Alex has gone above and beyond to support the faculty research project. She not only summarized the survey findings but also guided the team to consider the future direction of the study. She is always available and helpful and provides insightful suggestions. Above all, it is enjoyable to work with her.
Asheline Beeson, Brand Strategy and Marketing
Asheline does an amazing job every single day. She not only provides guidance and support through email marketing to the entire campus, but she goes above and beyond to make sure all content is well thought out and highlights the university. She works hard and never complains about last-minute requests and always does her best to accommodate everyone who asks. She is an absolute rock star – we are lucky to have her!
Beth Wilkinson, University Advancement
College of Health and Human Services Development puts on many events which all had to be switched to Zoom over the course of this past year. Beth went above and beyond to learn the ins and outs of Zoom, and as a result has produced many flawless events on behalf of the college that have been very well-received by alumni and donors alike. We wouldn't have been nearly as successful during this stressful time without her willingness to dive in and get the job done.
Fatih Yenen, Technology Services
Fatih went above and beyond during the holiday weekend to fix some web links before the launch of Fresno State's new web pages. His quick response helped to reduce anxiety for others and his flexibility was much appreciated.
Provides Excellent Customer Service
Leticia Saavedra, University Registrar's Office
Lety is amazing. She is always extremely helpful, informative, and an excellent resource. I contacted her for assistance with a form and she went out of her way to make sure we could not only assist the student but also at the same time she was able to take what had been a "Monday" and turn it into a positive experience. Thank you, Lety, for always being there when I have a question.
Modeled Principles of Community
Alicia Becton, Counselor Education and Rehabilitation
Dr. Becton goes above and beyond by fostering a sense of belonging and demonstrating compassion, empathy, care, and concern towards colleagues and students. She works collaboratively to achieve common goals, support the greater good and embrace Fresno State's mission by being proactive and a team player.
